US Dollar goes up after govt raises fuel prices

KARACHI:- Continuing its upward trajectory against the US Dollar in the interbank market for five consecutive days, the rupee on Friday registered a downward trend after the government further hiked petroleum prices.
On Friday, the US Dollar climbed 36 Paisa in interbank and is selling at Rs197.95 in intraday trading.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) also witnessed a bearish trend as benchmark KSE-100 index fell by over 709 points and is now at 41,528 points.
After the increase in prices, new petrol price is at Rs209.86 per liter while diesel is selling at Rs204.15 per liter.
