Regime change in Pakistan: DG IB Dr Mohammad Suleman goes on leave

ISLAMABAD: Director-General Intelligence Bureau (IB) Dr Mohammad Suleman has gone on a 90-day long leave.

According to reports, Director-General IB Dr Mohammad Suleman has suddenly gone on leave for 3 months after which Additional DG Abdul Khaliq Sheikh has been given the charge of Acting DG IB.

Suleman was appointed as the Director-General of the Intelligence Bureau in the year 2018 by the former government.

Earlier, right after the change of regime in the federal capital, the head of the sugar inquiry team and Director Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone-1 DIG Dr Muhammad Rizwan has gone on indefinite leave.

Muhammad Rizwan. Director (PSP/BS-20) FIA Punjab Zone-1, Lahore is hereby granted on full pay w.e.f 11.04.2022 onward,” read a notification issued from the director-general FIA’s office. The leave has been approved by DG FIA Dr Sanaullah Abbasi at the request of Dr Rizwan.

DG FIA Sanaullah Abbasi has appointed Ms Nazia Ambreen, Deputy Director FIA CCC, Lahore to look after the office of Director FIA Punjab Zone-1 Lahore till the joining of office by a regular incumbent. “This issues with the approval of Director General FIA.”

DIG Dr Rizwan was heading the entire investigations of FIA against PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif and his family in the Ramzan Sugar Mills case, Jahangir Khan Tareen in the JDW Sugar Mills case, the family of federal minister Khusro Bakhtiar as well as the Chaudaries of Gujrat in the Alliance Sugar Mills case.
