The Pakistan International Airline will be running non-stop direct flights to Australian capital Sydney from April 22.
In a tweet on Monday, PIA CEO Air Marshal Arshad Malik said that the operations will commence during the Eid holidays and preparations have been completed.
Initially, one flight will run weekly from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport. The number will later be increased to two.
The announcement was made at a meeting with Australian Deputy High Commissioner Joanne Frederiksen in Islamabad. The national carrier’s CEO thanked the Australian government for its support.
He added that these flights will strengthen friendship between the two countries.
