Pakistan reports 898 COVID-19 cases, highest in over 2 months

ISLAMABAD:- Pakistan has reported 5 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,298,763. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 28,950 on Monday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 898 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Province-wise Details

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 13,076 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 7,675 in Sindh 5,935 in KP, 967 in Islamabad, 746 in Azad Kashmir, 365 in Balochistan, and 186 in GB.

Furthermore 483,648 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 445,940 in Punjab 181,537 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 108,880 in Islamabad, 34,676 in Azad Kashmir 33,653 in Balochistan and 10,429 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Tests and Recoveries

Pakistan has so far conducted 23,608,645 coronavirus tests and 49,673 in the last 24 hours. 1,257,600 patients have recovered in the country whereas 652 patients are in critical condition.

Positivity Ratio

The COVID-19 positivity ratio was recorded at 1.8 percent.

Vaccine Statistics

So far, 98,560,854 people have received their first dose of coronavirus vaccine including 359,088 in last 24 hours. 72,546,719 citizens have been fully vaccinated while 486,211 received their second dose in last 24 hours.

The number of total administered doses has reached to 159,900,613 with 842,144 in the last 24 hours.
