Ogra proposes massive hike in gas price

ISLAMABAD:-The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority or Ogra has approved an increase in gas prices and sent its summary to the federal government.
It proposed a 16.37% increase in gas prices for Sui companies.
The suggested increase for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) consumers is Rs94 per MMBtu and Rs50 per MMBtu for Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) users.
The petitions submitted by SNGPL and SSGC for increase in prices were heard in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
LPG prices increased by Rs27
Earlier this week, the regulating body increased the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas or LPG by Rs27.1 per kilogram.
According to a notification, the commodity is now being sold at Rs233.78 per kilogram. The price of 11.8kg domestic cylinder has been fixed at Rs2,758.
