No-confidence motion updates: Shehbaz proposes ‘minus PTI’ national government

The political temperature has risen since the past week as the opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has decided to present a no-confidence against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Both the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government and the opposition are confident of their victory. They are firing verbal salvos against each other, and the resultant political upheaval has made it difficult to keep a track of all the developments.

PPP to join PDM’s long march

PPP will join PDM’s long march on March 25, Asif Ali Zardari has announced.

Zardari said that his party is joining the march on the invitation of PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Fazl claims opposition has support of 190 MNAs

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and PDM head, has claimed in an interview that the opposition alliance has the support of 190 members of National Assembly (MNAs).

Prime Minister Imran Khan is facing no-confidence motion. The opposition needs support of 172 MNAs to oust the prime minister.

The JUI-F chief said the government has made some of the treasury members disappear. They have been sent abroad in the name of delegations, he claimed.

Fazl said that the opposition’s long march would reach Islamabad on March 25 and would stay there till voting on no-confidence motion.
