Intense cold, wind gives Karachi a real Winter for change

The people of Karachi woke up Wednesday to intense cold and gushing winds which have tested their strength to brace Winter.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the temperature dropped to record 14 degrees Celsius. The wind is at a speed of six kilometres per hour which makes the weather feel even colder.

The city experienced record-breaking cold this week. On Monday, the temperature dropped to 19C after a spell of rain. It was the lowest temperature since 2008 when it was 19.6C.

In December, the highest monthly rain recorded was 63.6mm in 1980, and the highest 24-hour rainfall was 43.8mm which took place on December 22, 1980.
